My name is Randy Clements, an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. For the past 13 years I have been involved in martial arts training and for the last five of those years have been actively teaching as a school owner. I have been searching for a more comprehensive form of close combat defense and have found it with Grandmaster Gus Michalik.

Grandmaster Gus Michalik has developed a program that cuts to the meat of the matter without the fluff, pomp and circumstance found in other martial arts with a similar program. This is a no nonsense approach to close combat defensive. There is not a pretty application of the martial arts; it is the real world application to today’s world of aggression and hostility.

I have reviewed his training CD-ROMs and printed textbooks and have found what I have been searching for in advanced hand-to-hand combat. These CD-ROMs present the material for instruction with explanation of the moves, along with video of the moves that allow even the novice student to practice. The textbook material lays out the tasks, conditions and standards found in most military instruction manuals for each class presentation.

As an instructor, I have found this material is easy to teach by following the manual. Each class is laid out simply with the requirements for successful completion of each class and materials needed for each lesson. The teaching techniques are clearly and concisely laid out in an easy to read format and easy to following in a step-by-step methodology.

The Black Arts Society techniques and theories can be applied to any situation. They can be used in defense situations of the average housewife to the soldier involved in anti-terrorist activities. Military personnel and law enforcement officers can use these techniques to better enhance their training to work in the real world.

I am extremely happy that I have found Grandmaster Michalik’s program for close combat defense. This will soon be an active part of my military training and an additional course curriculum of my school. This is the best program I have found and look forward to working with Grandmaster in teaching this course material. It will not only benefit my professional growth in martial arts but will also add a different facet of martial arts to my students.
